Questions?

You’ve got questions, and we’ve got answers. If you don’t see your question answered below, or wish to have clarification, please contact us via email and we’ll get back to you in just a few days with answers.

What businesses are included?

As of the first round of reviews, the only businesses included are those our assorted staff members personally visited during the summer of 2008 (from June through August). Since then we’ve begun adding additional businesses (events, attractions, restaurants, hotels, etc.) as ease and demand dictate. If you’re business has been excluded, please don’t take it personally, but contact us to request we correct that absence and include you instead.

What businesses are not included?

We generally exclude “adult-themed” businesses. This specifically includes alcohol, tobacco, and other 18-21 and up businesses, no matter what they are. We will consider including certain casinos, provided that they are not strictly casinos, but also offer other events and attractions that may be relevant and interesting to children and/or parents traveling with children.

Many businesses not related to traveling, tourism and raising children have already been explicitly and intentionally excluded. If you have an insurance, real estate or mortgage business, it’s very likely we’ve excluded you from our first or second round of reviews, but not by device or intention. You are not specifically excluded, we just haven’t been directed to you as of yet to perform our review.

Inclusion and exclusion should in no way negatively reflect upon your company, but rather a matter of travel interest. These companies may warrant review, and if you’d like inclusion, no matter what your business may be, please drop us a line and we’ll talk with you to determine what we can do to assist you.

How can my company, event, attraction, hotel or restaurant be included?

Simply by asking, though please be aware that our resources are limited, and certain logistic, geographic and other factors may limit our ability to cover your place of business. This is not meant as any discredit, but simply a matter of fact. Our resources are less than unlimited, though we promise to do our best to include your business in our next round of reviews once we know about it.

What about my company news and press releases?

If you have a newsletter or issue press releases, please use the contact form to contact the editor and we’ll give you an email address you can use to send those. We’d be happy to consider news related to any press release or newsletter we receive.

How much does it cost to be part of Montana with Kids?

There is no cost to be included in our reviews. We do have certain ADVERTISING PACKAGES available, but these are not required for inclusion, nor will they guarantee timely inclusion, unfortunately. Our primary goal is to put together the most comprehensive and unbiased Montana review publication for parents traveling with children, and as such, there are certain necessary restrictions that must apply.

How many readers does Montana with Kids have?

Since we are still in Phase-1 of our initial launch, our reader stats and demographics have yet to fully form. As of the point of updating this page, it appears as though only about 5,000 readers see each article, and that tangible demographic data has yet to materialize. We firmly believe, however, that virtually all of these readers are ones specifically looking for tourist/travel information pertaining to Montana, specifically for those wishing to travel with children, but our data is yet to fully materialize. We sincerely apologize for this shortcoming and hope to remedy the matter as quickly as possible.

How often do you update?

At this point we’re updating the site no less than 2-4 times per week with new, relevant travel articles, based on the direct, personal experience of our original staff of dedicated parents. We hope to expand this in the future, but check back for latest information in this regard.

Can I advertise on Montana with Kids?

You sure can. We offer some of the most interesting, targeted, specific advertising opportunities in the Montana tourism industry. For complete information, please check out our ADVERTISING page for further details.

What’s the 2009 Tour, and how can I help?

One particular city was so delighted with our review work that they have invited us back as VIP guests to perform a series of reviews. If you’d like for our group to swing through your city, we’d sure like to talk with you. The 2009 Tour is not yet set in stone, but if your city can provide us with 2 nights accommodation and food, we may be interested in covering all of the businesses and attractions we failed to review in our previous articles. If you think your city, chamber of commerce or local group of businesses may have interest in this, please contact us immediately, as our Summer 2009 tour schedule is already filling up, but it may take less than you’d think to get us out to see and review your community than you might think.

Do you guys guarantee a good review?

No we do not. Though we always look for the positive, sometimes it just can’t be found. Most such businesses already have a pretty good idea who they are, and our inability to come across favorable comes as no surprise. If you sponsor our visit, and we come out to see you, and we DO NOT find anything positive to report, we’ll just skip you altogether, and not report anything at all. Conversely, if you don’t invite us, and don’t work with us to perform the review, and your business lacks any redeemable quality, we will review it, and it will go down in history for what it unfortunately is. This is a very rare case, but it does happen. More importantly, if you ever insult or degrade my disabled son, whether or not you know what we’re there to do, may heaven help you, because there’s nothing I can dream of that would spare you from a full & honest review (save for an enormous donation to a mutually agreeable charity we both know you lack the balls, compassion or funding to complete).

How do I correct something in an article?

If you’ve found a mistake in an address, hours, rates or other such clerical correction items, please contact us using the CONTACT page. Make sure you specify what business is misrepresented, what the correct information is, and how we may confirm it independently. We can’t just change hours because we get an email, otherwise your competitors could say you aren’t open 5-days a week, naturally. Help us by providing the most complete information possible so we can validate the claim and correct it accordingly.

I feel my business is misrepresented, how do I go about getting it fixed?

If your business has been listed in one of our reviews, and you don’t appreciate the coverage you’ve received, we do sincerely apologize to you. The review that has run is the direct result of one or more on-site visits to your business. If you feel that we under-represented the courtesy of your staff, claimed your rates were unfairly high, or otherwise depicted your business as something less than an ideal destination (this could be something as small as the pool not working when our authors came through, or as great as having children of disability ridiculed and made to feel sub-human, in one particular case,) we’re curious to hear your response. Ideally we’d like for you to invite one or more of our authors back to revisit the place. We’ll have to do that before we can amend or delete such a review, and there may be additional stipulations put forth at the time of request, depending upon who wrote the article, what the review stated, and other circumstances. If you have questions in this regard, please use our CONTACT page and we’ll see what we can figure out. We have no desire to defame anyone, but we are bound to a certain journalistic code by which we have no option but to report honestly and ethically about the businesses we encounter.

Why isn’t MY city listed on your site?

If you’re checking this extremely early in the process, it’s because we’re slowly doling out the reviews and we haven’t gotten to it yet. If you’re checking this much later, it’s because yours was unfortunately a town too small for our first two waves of visitation. That doesn’t mean we won’t get there, or that we can’t write something up about you guys in the interim, it just means it’s time for you to ask us specifically.

I want tons and tons of publicity, what should I do?

Lucky you, we’re represented by ThePublicityFirm.com, and we happen to be both very pleased with their work, and extremely confident in recommending their services to other businesses we encounter.
