No Longer Scared of Bugs Thanks to More Bugs

When I was younger I was sometimes afraid of bugs. Not all of them, but most I think. What can I say, they’re creepy and kind of gross. No parent wants their kids afraid of bugs, so mine did the only thing they could think to do; they took me outside during the summer. Mere exposure apparently does work wonders to acclimate young folk such as me to earth’s other creatures, and for me I can say it worked very well indeed.

California pump prices for gasoline dropped unpretentiously today another 7 tenths of a penny per gallon overnight to $2.926 per gallon. Montana prices were even less newsworthy only going down 3 tenths to $2.707 per gallon per the AAA fuelgauge report. But underneath the surface, sharks are lurking and they will come to bite you in the wallet when you are not watching out. (more…)

Hawaii gets the prize for the highest cost for gasoline at $3.09 per gallon in the AAA fuelgauge.report. Overheating Cars Help Kids Learn Mechanics Young

It was a lazy summer day when we were driving back from having all kinds of assorted fun on the road when my driver noted the car was overheating. We were almost back to our hotel, so we managed to skate in without stopping on a wing, a prayer, and since we didn’t have either of those things on hand, sheer luck.

What’s So Great About Montana… Besides Everything?

We spent three weeks in Montana last June/July and another three weeks last August, so when we announced our nine week tour for this summer, friends and family said, “Boy, you guys sure like Montana, don’t you?” Well yes we do, and there are a number of reasons why. Rather than email every single person individually, we decided to publish a story detailing some of the many reasons why big sky country is a place that, once you see it, you just can’t get it out of your head.

We’ll be spending almost nine straight weeks on our 2009 tour, so your hotel can get in on this opportunity.

Profiles in Terrible Games: Chicken Shoot for Nintendo Wii

There is no shortage of reviews that show just what a terrible game can be bought in “Chicken Shoot”, but I somehow let my desire to get a good deal overcome me when I made my purchase, even though I had read the reviews, and I really did know better. It’s not so much that you should expect something spectacular for $14.99, but the real problem is that stores simply shouldn’t be carrying garbage of this sheer incomparability.

Golf May Be Miniature, Full Size & Fun Size

As a man of miniature stature myself, I’m always on the lookout for new things more me-sized than medium. Mostly my size-based pursuits lead to nothing (thanks a lot, jumbo shrimp!) but there is one thing sized to pint that’s true to its name, and it is miniature golf. I discovered it, and I immediately learned to love it.

Wii Review: Offroad Extreme: Special Edition

Since our purchase of the Nintendo Wii last year, we’ve been doing our best to consider games as they come around, and do our best to review them as it’s appropriate. We’ve been shopping since then like regular folk, but we’ve been suckered in to at least a couple lackluster Wii purchases, and this terrible game is just one such example.

We’re already pretty much raving fans of PhotoWorks.com, and not just because they’ve got the stalwart professionalism of American Greeting backing them up. When we wanted prints for Christmas, we turned to them, and again when we wanted an oversize print the local shops couldn’t make. But there are a bunch of reasons we use PhotoWorks, and why we suggest them to you.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga for Nintendo Wii

Of all the cut-rate games I’ve bought for the Nintendo Wii, none meant much for me than headache. After buying the Nintendo Play (which came with a controller, so I was warned to have low expectations,) and falling for another title I won’t even bother naming, my faith in the system was entirely shaken… and then I found Lego Star Wars, and my modern gaming life just may now be complete.

What Do Reporters Know About Fake News? – Apparently A Lot

Seems like you’d want a comedian, like Jon Stewart or that (committee) guy from the Onion, to pick the best satire news story to win the annual prize, but the time-tested system of Humor Feed has a leg up on the competition. Already famous in their own right, HumorFeed.com does it differently, and it’s a difference you can plainly see. They start by making their already elite members select just one story each for nomination, then they test them among their own ranks, and from their it goes to the expert panel of judges… and every year, the winner is an absolute gem.

Wii Offers New Incentive for Autistic Children

It was a good few months ago when we first had an opportunity to let one of our staffers try his hand at the most unusual of modern-era video game systems; the Nintendo Wii. Our own senior staff contributor, Patrick, is himself doubly qualified to love this system. First of all, he’s autistic, and secondly, he’s played the Wii… and his love of it went so far beyond “like” it wasn’t even funny.
